On 15 April, the final round of the Russian and English divisions of the on-site stage of ICA Moot MGIMO x Arbitration Centre at the RSPP took place.
The ICA Moot MGIMO final began with model hearings in the Russian and English divisions, where the participants presented their positions as claimant and respondent, demonstrating a high level of preparation and a deep understanding of the mechanisms for resolving international commercial disputes.
After the final rounds, the general partner of the Competition, the law firm “Dyakin, Gortsunyan and Partners,” held a master class entitled “Arbitration from First-Hand Experience.” During the session, participants learned how international commercial arbitration works in practice, as well as about strategic and procedural techniques at the outset of a case and during the proceedings. They also discussed real-life scenarios and practical advice from practitioners.

At the award ceremony, hosted by the Moscow Lawyers channel presenters Alexander Molotnikov and Elina Gorokhova, Alexander Vladimirovich Zamaziy, Managing Director and Head of the Office of the Arbitration Centre at the RSPP, addressed the participants. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of remote communication skills for modern lawyers. Alexander Vladimirovich thanked the partners and sponsors, noting that their support enabled students to immerse themselves more deeply in the atmosphere of commercial arbitration. He also pointed out that this year the RSPP celebrates its 35th anniversary, while the Arbitration Centre marks its 20th anniversary. Alexander Vladimirovich expressed confidence in the future of Russian arbitration and congratulated the participants on their outstanding results.

The floor was then given to Alexander Vladimirovich Grebelsky, Chairman of the International Disputes Panel of the Arbitration Centre at the RSPP, Managing Partner of Grebelsky & Partners, and Associate Professor at the S.N. Lebedev Department of Private International Law and Civil Law. Alexander Vladimirovich emphasized that the competition case was based on real disputes. He thanked all the partners and expressed his hope that ICA Moot MGIMO would become a significant milestone in the life of every participant.
Based on the results of the final rounds, the prize-winning places in the Russian division were awarded to:

Team No. 8 — National Research University Higher School of Economics.
The prize-winning places in the English division were awarded to:

Team No. 6 — MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia;

Team No. 5 — Kutafin Moscow State Law University and MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia;

Team No. 2 — National Research University Higher School of Economics.
